eTrike FAQ
How far can I travel on my eTrike while using the motor?+
The Mini T has pedal assist up to 25 km/h, plus a throttle that assists up to 6 km/h as per Australian law. Expect roughly 30–60 km per charge, depending on conditions and how much you use the throttle. Rider weight, wind, terrain, assist level and hills all affect range.
Because there are so many variables, we don't claim a set distance. In winter, when the battery is colder, range can drop by up to 20%.
Can I ride in wet weather?+
Yes. Our eTrikes are weather resistant with an IP64 rating or higher, but they are NOT waterproof. Riding through deep water can submerge the motor and cause it to fail.
What warranties do you offer?+
We use quality components and stand by them: 3 years on the frame, 24 months on the motor and battery, and 12 months on other components. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Do you carry spare parts for your eTrikes?+
Yes. We carry stock of parts in Australia for fast backup support, and our service partner 99 Bikes can look after servicing, so we can get you back up and running quickly.
What sort of battery life can I expect?+
Our lithium batteries last around 800–1,000 charges. Riding most days, we expect a minimum of 4–6 years. Store the battery correctly and always use the supplied charger.
What maintenance is required?+
Much like a normal bicycle: charge correctly, keep tyre pressures right, lubricate the moving parts occasionally, and take care when washing not to get too much water around the motor.
Do I need a licence or registration?+
No. In Australia, an electrically power-assisted cycle with a motor up to 250W that cuts out at 25 km/h is treated as a bicycle — no licence or registration needed. Our Mini T meets these limits. Helmets are compulsory, and rules can vary slightly by state.
When should I recharge and how long does it take?+
A normal charge takes around 4–6 hours. You can charge after every ride or when it's flat — lithium batteries prefer top-up charging, so there's no need to run it empty first.
